About Me
Welcome to HOPE LOVE LIVE!
I'm Denise. I live in a small, tight-knit community located in California.
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physiology and enjoyed a career in Pharmaceutical/Medical sales for 15 years. My experience in the medical industry turned out to be an absolute blessing (and at times a curse) during the crisis of my husband's accident, as it allowed us to make informed and sound decisions regarding his care. Due to the circumstances of our situation and my husband's need for 24 hour care, I took my final bow in medical sales shortly after his accident. Although my career was very fulfilling and enjoyable, nothing was more important than lending around-the-clock care, love, and support for my husband, and my children. Eighteen months after the accident I started writing as a way to heal. It was through the power of writing that I was able to make sense of all the emotions that were bottled-up inside my head. It wasn't until after I un-loaded the stories involving some of our darkest hours, or some of our finer moments of progress and triumph, was I able to get perspective on our situation and life in general.
The perspective I have on life has now changed quite a bit from where it was 10 years ago. I have learned to wear many hats as I navigate through each day and my husband's road to recovery. Although I have changed job titles...from account manager to caregiver...I have tried my best to not lose sight of the roles that matter most to me and that is: ...wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
I hope you will enjoy reading my previous ESSAYS as much as I enjoyed writing them. It was incredibly therapeutic and helped me tremendously in my healing process.
Thank you to every reader from around the world for taking the time to read my essays. Your warm thoughts and kind words have been incredible. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
